Summer is in full swing at Holley Mountain Airpark, and June was filled with community spirit, outdoor adventures, and special celebrations that remind us what makes our airpark such a wonderful place to call home.
Improving Accessibility for Everyone
One of the biggest accomplishments this month was the completion of the new handicap parking area at the community center. Thanks to the incredible generosity of residents, the community raised more than **$9,000 in donations** to improve accessibility and make our gathering space more welcoming for everyone. The finished project looks fantastic and reflects the unique character of our aviation community. Residents added beautiful finishing touches, including a custom accessibility symbol featuring aviation-themed wings and a headset, creating a design that is both functional and meaningful. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the volunteers and neighbors who contributed their time, talents, and resources to make this project a reality. The result is something the entire community can be proud of. Of course, no construction project is complete without supervision! The local horses kept a watchful eye on the work, while a determined Killdeer—an unusual bird that decided to nest right in the middle of the parking lot rocks—made sure everyone stayed on task.

Camping Along the White River
Several Holley Mountain Airpark neighbors enjoyed a relaxing camping trip to beautiful Jacksonport State Park. The group spent time exploring the area, sharing stories, and taking in stunning views of the White River. As evening settled in, campers gathered to enjoy one of Arkansas’s greatest treasures: a breathtaking sunset over the river. The peaceful scenery and great company provided the perfect opportunity to unwind and appreciate the natural beauty that surrounds us. Moments like these remind us that some of the best adventures happen when neighbors become friends and friends become family.

A Special Birthday Celebration
June also brought an opportunity to celebrate one of our own as neighbors gathered to honor Mike Foote’s XX birthday. The celebration was filled with laughter, fellowship, and plenty of good conversation. Mike enjoyed spending time with friends and neighbors while sharing birthday cake and participating in a bourbon tasting that made the occasion even more memorable. Community celebrations like these are a reminder that Holley Mountain Airpark is about far more than airplanes and beautiful scenery—it’s about the connections and friendships, and friends who become family.

Thank you to everyone who helped make these events possible and contributed to the welcoming spirit that defines our community.
Here’s to a safe, fun, and adventure-filled summer at Holley Mountain Airpark! ✈️🏕️🌅
