While aviation is at the heart of Holley Mountain Airpark, our community extends far beyond the runway. Residents enjoy a wide variety of activities together, from attending plays in Little Rock and camping in Arkansas’s beautiful state parks to taking vacations and day trips with friends and neighbors. We also enjoy many smaller communities built around shared interests: crafting, kayaking, frisbee golf, boating, camping, sewing, and other hobbies. Living at the base of the Ozark Mountains offers the perfect balance of community connection and peaceful solitude.
August 2026 was a hot one!
This month, HMA property owners traveled to the Baxter County Airport in Mountain Home, Arkansas, to attend the annual Cross Wind Classic Fly-In/Drive-In event. The event featured a variety of attractions, including a poker run, car show, static aircraft displays, live music, and rides in the iconic Beech 18 aircraft. Residents who attended enjoyed a day filled with aviation, entertainment, and fellowship. It was another great example of how our community takes its passion for aviation beyond the boundaries of the airpark.
Our community also gathered this month for a special farewell event honoring a longtime friend and neighbor who is returning to his home country after nearly two decades at Holley Mountain Airpark. Arriving at HMA in 2007, he became a valued member of our community and made significant contributions to the aviation world during his time here. Among his accomplishments was the design, construction, and successful flight of The Raptor, an innovative experimental aircraft that drew attention from aviation enthusiasts all around. We wish him all the best in this next chapter and thank him for the memories and contributions he leaves behind.

Of course, no month at HMA would be complete without our weekly Taco Tuesday gatherings. These regular get-togethers continue to provide opportunities for neighbors to connect, share stories, and enjoy great food together. This month even included an excursion to a different restaurant, giving attendees a chance to mix things up while maintaining the fellowship and fun that have become trademarks of our Tuesday tradition.

Our active Board of Directors also held its monthly meeting, continuing their work to ensure the long-term success and flourishing of Holley Mountain Airpark. Their ongoing efforts help maintain the quality, character, and vibrant spirit that make HMA such a desirable place to live. Property owners are encouraged to mark their calendars and plan to attend the Annual Meeting in November.
